Sato
Sato is a skilled member of the Chihara-Kai, working directly under Kume. He has a close friendship with Samantha, but finds this strained when she begins hanging around Jake Adelstein. Whilst a respected member of the Yakuza, he is often short-tempered and allows his anger to get the best of him.

Relationship with Samantha[edit | edit source]
Sato has a complicated relationship with Samantha. The two are relatively close, and Sato frequents the club that she works at a lot, always sitting at the same table, and always asking for Samantha. Sato feels threatened, however, when Samantha begins hanging out with Jake Adelstein. Sato becomes jealous and starts to grow inquisitive of Jake, none more so than when he sees Adelstein on the news in association with the Tozawa arrests.
After Sato becomes aware that Adelstien is encroaching on his relationship with Samantha, he begins to tease her. He brings dresses by the club she works at for the girls to buy and tells her that he has the perfect one for her. When she tries it on and falls in love, she says that she will purchase it but Sato tells her spitefully that it is not for sale.
Troubles with his temper[edit | edit source]
Sato struggles with his temper as a member of the Chihara-Kai, and is often impulsive. On one occassion, he slaps a business owner after he jokes about switching to the Tozawa for protection. Kume immediately reprimands him for his actions, citing that the man was well aware he would've died before being allowed to switch to the Tozawa.
Shortly after, Sato beats one of his fellow Chihara-Kai members badly after he challenges him and puts him in hospital. For this, Oyuban is furious with Sato and questions why he would hurt one of his own brothers.
